Sent On Behalf of Baker School Nurses: Baker Parents, We are in the midst of the cold and flu season. Students returning to school post-illness may require medications at school. If your child requires medication that is not currently held in the nurse's office, please be aware of the following PCSSD guidelines for medication administration at school. 1. All medications given at school require a current signed parent medication administration form (MAR). This can be filled out and signed when medication is brought by the parent to the school. 2. All medications, including inhalers, must have a prescription label attached or be in the original box with the prescription label attached. 3. As per ACT 1694 of 2005, which allows for students to carry emergency medications at school, including asthma inhalers and epinephrine autoinjectors, these students must have a written order from their physician to self-carry and approval from the school nurse. Please do not send any medications with students to be self-administered at school, with the exception of #3 above and the proper documentation in place. Good afternoon! Due to the anticipated inclement weather entering central Arkansas tomorrow, PCSSD will dismiss early on Tuesday. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. and secondary schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. District offices will also close at 12:30 p.m. There will not be any after school activities, including aftercare. Sack lunches will be provided for those who need lunch. PCSSD will continue to monitor the weather and will make adjustments if needed. Thank you.
