LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Joe T. Robinson High School senior Jayna George was recently selected for the state officer position of "reporter" in her first year with SkillsUSA.

SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving high school, college and middle school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations, and for further education. SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.

She also attends Metropolitan Career Tech Center where she is studying Medical Professions. She is actively involved in several organizations including Beta Club, National Honors Society, FCCLA, Student Council, Senator Ambassador, Art Club and now SkillsUSA. Jayna is also the Vice President of my graduating class of 2020, has a 4.0 GPA and is currently enlisted in U.S. Army.

SkillsUSA helps each student excel and Jayna is taking full advantage of this motto as she has her own entrepreneurial endeavors. She makes and sell all-natural skin care products through her business, Misunderstood Skin.

SkillsUSA is a place where Jayna says she can further develop her leadership abilities, gather a deeper respect for the dignity of work, find a purpose and gain realistic career goal all while staying organized. In the future, she plans to serve at least 20 years in the Army then attend school to become a dermatologist. After she gets her degree in dermatology, Jayna wants to become a licensed plastic surgeon and start my own dermatology practice.
