May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. One reason May was chosen to celebrate the contributions of AAPI people is Golden Spike Day. The transcontinental railroad, built with the help of many Chinese workers, was completed on May 10, 1869. #pcssdproud #serveall

Good afternoon parents and staff. We are currently on a lockdown at the request of local law enforcement. State troopers were trying to stop a vehicle on Hwy 161. As the suspect passed the school, the person left the vehicle near our campus. As a precaution, we will remain on lockdown until given the all clear from law enforcement. All students and staff are safe. We appreciate your patience.

Speech Pathologist Day Celebration! On May 18, we celebrated Ms. Kennedy. Ms. Rainey provided a special vegan lunch for her, and we ended the week with balloons, flowers, and a fruit salad, fruit for a dessert, and a Starbucks gift card!

Harris Elementary celebrated the fifth graders today. They are middle school bound! Congratulations!

May is Jewish American Heritage Month, a celebration of the more than 350-year history of Jewish people living and contributing to communities across the U.S. #pcssdproud #serveall

More fun than you can shake a stick at! We are so thankful for our volunteers and staff who helped to make all of this happen!

Harris Elementary had a great turnout of volunteers, parents, and community members at our annual field day today! Fun was had by all who came! Special thanks to all of our volunteers and staff who made this day possible!
#teamwork Special shout-out to Coach E, who planned the whole thing!

Harris was clean as can be after our foam party from Arkansas Foam Parties! Our students had some good clean fun at our field day today!

Harris Elementary was blessed today by the following: C Roy Overflow, Inc., Full Counsel Church, New Hope Church, Fairview Church, WalMart, and the JHS Class of 1980. Scholars earned chances to win a new bike, and these wonderful partners donated over 30 new bikes! To say the children were excited is an understatement! Thank you for partnering with Harris to make our children's lives a little fuller today!

We had a "peeperific" good time recreating works of art with marshmallow peeps today in TREK!

Friday will be an exciting day at #Harris!
Parents,
It’s that exciting time of year—Field Day! Field Day will be Friday, May 16th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 pm. Please review the attached concession order form and send it back with the correct amount of cash in an envelope on Friday, May 16th. This will help us keep everything running smoothly. We’ve got a day full of fun activities planned for our students, including water games, so please make sure your child brings a towel and a change of clothes if they’d like to participate in those events. In the event that it rains, field day activities will be moved to indoor facilities. Thank you for all your support and helping us make your students’ experience here at Harris Elementary exceptional.
Thanks,
Coach Eskridge
PE Teacher
Students who have 85% good behavior and no referrals starting the week of April 28th through May 12th will receive a ticket for the Foam Party on Field Day from 11:00 am until noon.
