
Students got to visit Wilson Water Treatment Facility to learn how Water is pumped to the Facility and treated to make water safe for drinking. This is a great experience in the field for our students as part of the Academies of Maumelle High.

Theatre/Technical Theatre students from Maumelle High School attended "Sparking Dialogue Through Drama, AMFA presents Breaking the Box," at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Elizabeth Eckford of the LIttle Rock Nine was in the audience. After the stunning performance, students participated in a Q&A with the Arkansas-based cast/crew and toured the facility.



Next week is High School Voter Registration Week and your chance to fulfill your civic duty. In partnership with Pulaski County Government, MAUMELLE HIGH is hosting a voter registration drive on September 25. Our Spanish students are ready to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!
Ms. Rodreguiz’s class decorated the halls with garlands, hand-colored posters and information on Spanish speaking countries of the world.
Ms. Franco-Whitmore's students created “Alebrijes” and “Molas” to help them identify similarities and differences between the symbolism and traditions of Hispanic culture. They also used the AVID strategy of the month: the focus note taking process.

Our Engineering Classes are learning about simple machines and how to calculate mechanical advantage. They had to identify the simple machines in a combine harvester and then build a working replica of that simple machine as it works in the combine. The students are building and coding their machines, while recording their design process in their engineering notebooks.
Ms. Keesee is also working with John Deere to get the kids to a combine or a combine to them so they can see a combine in person!
