PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Mills University Studies High and Mills Middle orchestra director, Gabriel Bruce, has been announced as the new director and conductor of the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to carry on the legacy of musical excellence that has been long established with the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra,” said Mr. Bruce. “I look forward to working with all of our Youth Orchestra parents, Arkansas Symphony musicians, and especially the finest students in the state to continue to deliver meaningful educational and musical experiences in our community."
The Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra is the top tier of the symphony’s three youth performing ensembles. Students, grades 8-12, are some of the most advanced string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players from around Arkansas.
Bruce will continue his work in the Pulaski County Special School District, in addition to his new responsibilities with the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra.
